Animals and birds vie with the land and water for your attention as you cruise the ancient waterways. White-tailed deer, black bear, beaver, mink, otters and moose appear seemingly out of nowhere. Bald eagles, hawks and ospreys drift silently overhead. Blue herons and snow-white pelicans swoop down to fish the shallows. Loons and cormorants briefly surface from the granite stained waters as if to say hello before disappearing once again.
